A Mountie from New Brunswick who was smoking medical marijuana while in uniform, was in tears when he returned his red dress uniform Friday, saying members of the force who are prescribed medical marijuana don’t get proper support. Corporal Ron Francis was given the drug to treat post-traumatic stress disorder. The RCMP says officers who are prescribed medicinal marijuana should not be in uniform while taking their medication because it sends the wrong message.
Corporal Francis: “20 years of exemplary service. I have not one flaw on my service record.”
Francis removed a 20-year service medal from the uniform saying the force couldn’t have it because he had earned it.
