Provincial police say a motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Highway 407 near Trafalgar Road in Oakville.

OPP say the single-vehicle crash was reported just before midnight on Thursday.

The 25-year-old man from North York was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers had the eastbound lanes of the highway closed between Trafalgar Road and the Highway 403 ramp for several hours.

The lanes have since reopened.
