Mother killed, two-month-old baby critically injured in fatal crash

A 29-year old mother from London, Ontario was killed, and her two-month old baby was critically injured in a crash at around 8:30 on Highway 7. They were passengers in a car that was hit from behind. Two other people in the car- her husband and her mother- suffered minor injuries.

Police say 26-year old Ahmed Darwish of Kitchener is facing eight charges, including impaired driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

The Ontario Provincial Police say this is one of 100 drunk driving charges laid this weekend.
