Mortgage broker charged with sexual assault

The Hamilton Police Major Fraud Unit have executed five more search warrants in the Peel and Halton regions, in relation to Dinesh Khanna and the Metro Financial Investigation.
The investigation has now been expanded to the Brantford, Halton and Niagara regions. Detectives from these jurisdictions are now working with the Hamilton Police on this case.
On the morning of March 3rd, 2016 Detectives from the Hamilton Police Fraud and Sexual Assault unit executed two search warrants in connection to this investigation. One took place at 193 Kin Street West and the other took place at 1372 Bronte Road in Oakville.
The investigation is now over and detectives have arrested and charged Khanna with four counts of sexual assault, extortion and communicate for the purpose of sexual services.
He is in custody until his bail hearing today at the John Sopinka Courthouse.
Police began their investigation in September, after a woman said she’d been sexually assaulted at a mortage broker’s office on King Street west in Hamilton.
60 year old Dinesh “Dennis” Khanna of Oakville was arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault on December 16th. He was released on a promise to appear in court.
His mortgage brokerage licence has been suspended and Metro Financial Planning Limited’s licence has also been suspended.
Police believe there may be more victims. Anyone with information is asked to call police or crimestoppers.
