Nine more people are facing criminal charges in the largest human trafficking ring in Canadian history.

The RCMP says the charges stem from a mail theft ring that was once part of a Roma family’s criminal organization.

Police allege the group stole checks from mailboxes in London, Halton, Waterloo and the GTA, worth millions of dollars.

Police say they also recruited men from their native Hungary to work for the family’s construction businesses, and then were treated as slaves once in Canada.

21 year old Zoltan Horvath of Hamilton has been charged.

Arrest warrants are out for eight others.
