Montreal couple in court

A Montreal couple and their adult son accused of killing members of their own family appeared in court in Kingston Thursday.

Tooba Mohammad Yahya, Mohammad Shafia and Hamed Mohammad Shafia are each charged with four counts of first degree murder.

Three teenage sisters and a 50 year old woman in the family were found dead inside a submerged car in the Rideau Canal two years ago.

The crown is expected to lay out its case Thursday as the trial gets underway.

It’s expected to last at least two to three months.
