Milton Council has approved the Agerton Secondary Plan, mapping out a new eastern community with a Trafalgar GO Station for the town.
The plan is also expected to include over 14,000 residents and 17,000 jobs.
The about 359 hectare planning area is bordered by Highway 401 to the north, Derry Road to the south, the Greenbelt to the west and Eighth Line to the east.
Initiated in 2018, the Agerton Secondary Plan sets out a framework for a complete community with a mix of land uses, including residential, employment, parks and community services.
The tallest buildings are planned near a proposed major transit station in the area of Derry and Trafalgar roads.
The town says this plan will go into effect following the minister of municipal affairs and housing’s approval.
