Workers at Max Aicher North America, also known as MANA, could be locked out on June 29th if they are unable to reach a deal with the company.

Workers voted 73% against an offer that demanded wage and benefit cuts. The company says it will lock out workers if a deal isn’t reached.

The German-based company bought two idled Stelco mills in 2010 and offered jobs to 100 laid off Stelco workers and retirees. Production began quickly, but layoffs soon followed.

MANA has said it needs to cut pay and benefits to stay competitive.
