Marley Coffee comes to Canada

There’s a new coffee brand in Canada, and you might recognize one of its co-founders.

Marley Coffee was launched by Rohan Marley in 2009 and entered Canada this year. Marley is the son of raggae artist Bob Marley. He used to play football for the University of Miami and the now-defunct Ottawa Rough Riders.

Marley says he was inspired to start his own coffee business after a trip to Ethiopia. He says running his business sustainably and ethically came naturally.

“The words sustainability and ethical and those sorts of things, I didn’t know what they meant because that’s who I am in general. And I realized, oh what I’m doing means this,” said Marley.
