Marineland to stop burying dead animals

Marineland has been ordered to stop burying animals on its property.

While an inspection in December didn’t find any contamination of the nearby Welland River, the Ministry of the Environment is making it clear that the tourist attraction needs to follow the rules.

More inspections will be done, and a permit will be required for any future burials.

The burials were done at the back of the park and included various sea and land animals that lived there during the park’s 52 years in operation.
