Man who brutally beat a Smithville family sentenced to 12 years

VIDEO: Alexander Bates has been convicted on two counts of attempted murder. The 47-year-old almost beat Alberto Araujo and his mother-in-law, Lynda Gallandt, to death with an aluminum bat. The crime took place in Araujo’s home on Anastasia Boulevard in Smithville last December. Diana Weeks reports.
