Man charged in donation bin theft from Sikh temple in Niagara Falls

Officers have charged a man they believe stole a donation bin from a Sikh temple in Niagara Falls.

Niagara police were called to the Sikh Temple and Community Centre at 8405 Lundy’s Lane shortly before 4 p.m. on Sept. 21.

Investigators learned someone had entered the prayer room of the temple around 10:10 a.m. and stole a locked donation bin.

The thief fled the area on foot, heading southbound across the street to the Americana Resort parking lot.

He was then seen getting into a silver or grey, four-door sedan. Police say the vehicle exited the lot and traveled east on Lundy’s Lane towards Kalar Rd.

Andrew Greville, 33, of Fort Erie has been arrested and charged with theft. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place today.
