Man arrested in St. Catharines sexual assault

Niagara police have arrested the suspect of a sexual assault on Monday afternoon in St. Catharines and there may be more victims.

Police say the incident happened at the intersection of Geneva Street and Welland Avenue in St. Catharines when an unknown male suspect walked past a woman, then circled back and slapped her on the buttocks.

Officers say the suspect is unknown to the victim.

The victim took a photo of the man. Police then canvassed the area and arrested 22-year-old Brady Burke of St. Catharines.

Burke has been charged with sexual assault and failing to comply with a probation order.

He remains in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing today.

The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Sexual Assault Unit has concerns there may be additional victims.
