Man arrested in St. Catharines car dealer, repair shop break-ins

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to a series of break-ins at car dealerships and repair shops in St. Catharines.
A Niagara police investigation revealed that key fobs were being taken from the businesses in order to steal vehicles later.
Officers arrested Austin Horner of St. Catharines on Tuesday. He was charged with the following offences:
- Break enter and commit – place other than dwelling;
- Fail to comply with release order (x3);
- Operation while prohibited;
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
- Attempt break and enter; and
- Fail to comply with probation order (x2)
Horner was held in custody pending a bail hearing that is scheduled for Thursday at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
