Man arrested after St. Catharines standoff, faces murder charges

A man is in custody following a multi-hour standoff in a St. Catharines neighbourhood on Saturday.

Police say 47-year-old Daniel Dale Rosebush is facing charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder in connection to a double shooting that took place on Nov. 22.

On Nov. 23, 2024, police officers from Niagara Falls’ tactical unit swarmed a home on Churchill Street.

For the next four hours, neighboring residents were instructed to stay inside while police negotiated with the alleged gunman involved in the double shooting on Nov. 22 which claimed one life and left another person fighting for their life.

The scene was widely circulated across social media platforms.
