Man, 36, charged in death of missing Fort Erie senior

Niagara Regional Police’s homicide unit has arrested a man in connection with the death of 74-year-old Desmond Teague.
Teague was first reported missing by his family on Sept. 30.

Just one week later, investigators responded to 32 Idlewylde St. in Fort Erie for a report of found human remains.
Police identified the remains as those of Teague’s.

As a result of the investigation, homicide detectives arrested 36-year-old Curtis Desjaslais of no fixed address.
Desjaslais is charged with second-degree murder and indignity to a human body.
Police believe that the victim and accused were known to each other and that this was not a random incident.
Desjarlais is expected to appear in a St. Catharines courthouse Thursday.
