Man, 25, involved in Halton youth hockey charged with sexual assault of teen girl

A 25-year-old man involved in youth minor hockey in the Halton region has been charged in the alleged sexual assault of a teen girl last year.

Officers say the girl met with the man in late 2025 in Oakville where she was allegedly sexually assaulted.

Police say she did not suffer any physical injuries.

Following an investigation, Canaan (Cane) Meister of Oakville was arrested Sunday and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

Meister has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

Meister is currently involved with youth minor hockey in the Oakville and Burlington areas, and police believe there may be more victims.
