Man, 18, charged with attempted murder in east Hamilton shooting

Hamilton police have charged an 18-year-old local man with attempted murder following a targeted shooting in the city’s east end that left two people injured Friday afternoon.

Officers say two people were found with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds in the area of King Street East and Lawrence Road and taken to hospital.

Darien Wilson, 18, was arrested shortly after the incident.

Hamilton police say a firearm was recovered.

Wilson was also charged with discharging a firearm with intent to injure and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Other charges laid were possession of a restricted firearm (loaded), possession of a restricted firearm knowing its possession was unauthorized and two counts of aggravated assault.
