Low voter turnout

The Ontario election had the lowest voter turnout since Ontario’s first election in 1867!

Voter turnout was under 48%, down from the unprecedented low of 52% in the last provincial election.

Almost 625,000 cast their ballots in advance polls which was about 170,000 more than the last election so it was thought at the time it was thought there was more interest in this election.

But fewer than 4 million out of the 8.5 million eligible voters bothered to vote.
