Heavy rainfall has caused localized flooding on a number of roadways in Hamilton and surrounding areas prompting closures throughout the region.
City of Hamilton crews have shut down Shaver Rd. between Garner Rd. West and Book Rd. due to flooding.
County of Brant is currently under a flood watch. Lions Park and Bean Park in Paris have both been closed and city staff is continuing to monitor conditions at Burford Lions Art Cadman Park.
Brant officials have also closed the following roadways until further notice:
In Halton Region, police have closed Walkers Line in Burlington between Derry Rd. and Britannia Rd.
Police are also warning motorists traveling on Fourth Line across to Winston Churchill Blvd. and Derry Rd. up to No. 10 Side Rd. to be aware of water on the roadways and remember to drive slowly.
ROAD HAZARD: Due to heavy rain there are several areas experiencing flooding across numerous roadways in Milton. Areas affected: Fourth Line across to Winston Churchill Blvd and Derry Road up to No 10 Side Road. PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY through these areas. Updates to follow. ^jm

A resident in Hamilton who lives near Concession Rd. 8 East and Highway 6 says the flooding on their property is the worst it has ever been. The homeowner says they are preparing sandbags to create a barrier around the exterior of their home where rain has already pooled and started to seep into their basement.
Environment Canada has issued rainfall and snowfall warnings for many parts of Southern Ontario including Hamilton, Halton and Niagara.
