Sunday is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia and Transphobia, or IDAHOBIT, a day meant to promote inclusion, equality and human rights for 2SLGBTQI+ communities. To understand why this day still matters, we spoke with a survivor of the LGBT purge, a decades-long period when thousands of LGBTQ Canadians in the military, RCMP and federal public service were targeted by their own government and with young people hearing about it for the first time.
