Loaded gun, numerous drugs discovered at East Hamilton home

Two people are facing numerous charges after police carried out a search warrant at a Hamilton residence and discovered four different kinds of drugs in the home.

Members of Hamilton Police’s Major Drug Unit initiated the search warrant last Thursday after an investigation into the East Hamilton home.

A search of the residence revealed a loaded handgun, 400 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of fentanyl, 150 oxycodone pills, 14 hydromorphone capsules indicative of drug trafficking and $5000 in cash.

Jose Silva, 38-years-old from Hamilton and April Blake, 53-years-old also from Hamilton, were arrested and are facing more than six criminal charges each.

The charges include possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, proceeds of crime under $5,000 and more.

Police are also on the hunt for 39-year-old Joelen Keogh in relation to this investigation.
