Last week of Hamilton’s curbside yard waste collection early December

Residents of Hamilton will want to finish raking leaves on their properties as the week of Dec. 1 will be the last five days of curbside yard waste collection for the winter season.

After Dec. 5 residents are encouraged to take advantage of the City’s free yard waste drop-off program at any community recycling centre.

Curbside yard waste collection will resume on March 2 of next year.

According to the City of Hamilton the schedule is based on waste tonnage data, which shows that peak yard waste disposal typically occurs in mid-November and declines steadily as winter approaches.

Residents are encouraged to visit the City’s yard waste web page for more information about disposal, including drop-off locations and hours.

Christmas tree curbside collection will run from Jan. 5 to 9 and Jan. 12 to 16 on designated neighbourhood collection days.
