Last week of Hamilton’s curbside yard waste collection early December

Residents of Hamilton will want to finish raking leaves on their properties as the week of Dec. 1 will be the last five days of curbside yard waste collection for the winter season.

After Dec. 5, residents are encouraged to take advantage of the City’s free yard waste drop-off program at any community recycling centre.

Curbside yard waste collection will resume on March 2 of next year.

The City says the schedule is based on waste tonnage data, which shows that peak yard waste disposal typically occurs in mid-November and declines steadily as winter approaches.

Residents are encouraged to visit the City’s yard waste web page for more information about disposal, including drop-off locations and hours.

Christmas tree curbside collection will run from Jan. 5 to 9 and Jan. 12 to 16 on designated neighbourhood collection days.
