Kidnapping suspect to appear in B.C. court

The man suspected of kidnapping a three-year-old boy will be in court today in Cranbrook.

Randall Hopley was arrested Tuesday after he was found hiding in a cabin near an Alberta bible camp. It was an area where the 46-year-old lived most of his life.

On Sunday, three-year-old Kienan Hebert was returned to his family’s home in Sparwood, British Columbia, four days after he disappeared.

It appears Hopley acted alone in abducting the boy, police officials say, adding there was no deal made for Kienan’s safe return.
