Joseph Brant Hospital welcomes brand new ‘Smilezone’
Joseph Brant Hospital officially welcomed its brand new Smilezone in its Maternal and Child program space on Tuesday.
The space was made through a donation from the Smilezone Foundation and Bill and Donna Hook, allowing for hallways, lounges and four patient rooms on the second level of the North Tower to be transformed with outdoor-themed murals.
The murals at Joseph Brant feature some familiar views, including Burlington’s Spencer Smith Park and Pier.

The hospital’s Maternal and Child team works to provide care to address the physical and emotional needs from pregnancy to a child’s adolescence.
The Oakville-based Smilezone Foundation has worked to create 340 engaging “Smilezones” in waiting rooms, treatment rooms and patient care rooms throughout the country.
Those in attendance of the grand opening of the space on Tuesday include Burlington MP Karina Gould, Ward 1 Councilor Kelvin Galbraith and Barbara Elliot, the Chair of the Joseph Brant Hospital Board of Directors.
