Jersey Boys

Jersey Boys is an adaptation of the Tony Award-winning broadway musical of the same name, directed by Clint Eastwood (Million Dollar Baby, Invictus). The biographical musical chronicles the rise of the 60’s pop group The Four Seasons, led by the talented falsetto singer Frankie Valli. The film features stage actors from a few of the musical’s productions, including John Lloyd Young as Valli, a role in which he won the Best Actor in a Musical Tony Award in 2006. The film co-stars Erich Bergen, Michael Lamenda, Vincent Piazza, and Christopher Walken.
Eastwood, who is a self-described fan of The Four Seasons, was intrigued by the private side of the young group. “I have always loved the music of The Four Seasons, so I knew it would be fun to revisit that, but what mainly interested me was how these semi-juvenile delinquents, who didn’t grow up under the best of circumstances, made it big. They were living on the periphery of the mob, pulling off petty crimes and what have you. Some had even done jail time. Then the music came and pulled them out. It gave them something to strive for.”
Jersey Boys is rated 14A.
