Jaywalking teen killed in Mississauga

A Mississauga teen was killed after being hit by a car on Friday night.

Police were called to the scene at Britannia Road and Glen Erin Drive at roughly 8:30 p.m.

The 15-year-old was struck by a car after going against a red light and avoiding a crosswalk. She was accompanied by a 17-year-old boy. He was unhurt.

The driver, a 70-year-old man, stayed on the scene and cooperated with police. Police say speed was not a factor and no charges were laid on the scene.
