Is Thorold the most patriotic city in Canada?

Don’t tell residents of Thorold Canadians aren’t flag wavers. For the 10th straight year in a row Thorold is vying for the title of most patriotic city in Canada.

Thorold is blanketed in red and white, 5 000 flags were planted on the boulevards this past Sunday, Anthony Venneri has 250 flags at his house alone. “We live here in Canada and we should be proud of it, so we should be flying our Canadian flags, just like the Americans are so patriotic.”

For the last 10 years Thorold has won bragging rights for its show of patriotic spirit. Last year the final flag count was 7 500, this year they say they’re on track to beat it.
