The U.S. government is launching an investigation after receiving 11 complaints about fires breaking out in the engine compartments of Toyota RAV-4 models. The probe could end up leading to a recall of nearly 1.9-million of the small S-U-Vs in the 2013 through 2018 model years. The U-S National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says fires start on the left side of the engine compartment and that improper battery installation or front-end collision repair was a factor. There is no indication of a similar investigation in Canada.
