Inquiry into Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women

The Federal government has announced the terms of the long-awaited commission on missing and murdered Indigenous women unveiling that it will need nearly $14 million more than expected for the study.
Indigenous Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett, Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould and Status of Women Minister Patty Hajdu attended a ceremony at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Quebec this morning.
The inquiry will be led by five commissioners when it is up and running on September 1st.
The probe should last two years and will cost almost $54 million. The Federal government had originally budgeted $40 million.
