A Hamilton lawyer has finally received word from the Minister of Public Safety, months after he was suspended from an advisory board.
Hussein Hamdani says the letter only thanks him for 10 years of service and it doesn’t answer why he was suspended in the first place.
The letter is succinct , signed by Public Safety Minister, Stephen Blaney and Attorney General, Peter MacKay, it tells Hamdani his term ended a month ago, that the government is transitioning new members, and conveyed their appreciation for his efforts.
Hamdani learned of his suspension through the media.
At the time, an Anti-Muslim blogger in Quebec told a Senate Sub-Committee about a report written by Hamdani in 1994, when he was in student government urging other Muslims to get involved.
Hamdani considered suing the Government for defamation but decided not to.
He is still concerned about damage done to his reputation.
