The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Katniss Everdeen and crew return for the second film of the Hunger Games series. In The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, we pick up with Katniss and Peeta (played by Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson) soon after their victory at the 74th Hunger Games.  After a quick visit home the duo set off on a victor’s tour of the districts, where they sense that a rebellion is brewing. In an effort to thwart the rebelion and the hope Katniss brings to the districts, Donald Sutherland’s President Snow plans an all-champion Hunger Games which sees Katniss and Peeta back in the arena.

Francis Lawrence hops in to the director’s chair for this one after the director of the first film Gary Ross, opted not to return. Lawrence is going with the bigger is better approach to the sequel. Expect some great spectacles and some exciting IMAX scenes in Catching Fire.
