TORONTO — A group of human foosball players scored a Guinness World Record on Saturday.

As part of the buildup to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. organized the world’s largest game of human foosball.

In total, 254 people took part in the game, held inside a custom-built life-size foosball arena measuring 150 by 68 feet.

A Guinness World Records adjudicator was on hand to verify the record, which required a minimum of 251 players.

The event took place at Humber Polytechnic’s Lakeshore Campus in Etobicoke during Doors Open Toronto.

Toronto is set to host games during the World Cup, which runs from June 11 to July 19.

Games will also be hosted in Vancouver, as well as locations in the U.S. and Mexico.

OLG says the Toronto celebration was also to show support grassroots soccer programs and coaching initiatives across Ontario.
