Progressive Conservative leader Tim Hudak says he would create 120,000 new jobs in Ontario by making the province the lowest business tax jurisdiction in North America.

Hudak made the announcement today while campaigning in Whitby, and said reducing corporate taxes by 30 per cent is one step of his eight-year plan to create a million jobs in the province. To pay for the plan Hudak says he will replace grants to businesses with the corporate tax reduction.

Today’s announcement comes one day after Hudak pledged to cut 100,000 jobs as a way to help eliminate the $12.5 billion deficit by 2016.

Meanwhile NDP leader Andrea Horwath hammered the Liberals on car insurance rates today while she campaigned in Brampton. Horwath says rates haven’t dropped quickly enough despite the Liberals’ budget pledge last year to drop them by 15 per cent by August 2015. She also talked about her party’s plan to create jobs.

Horwath will be flying to northern Ontario tomorrow where the NDP hold several seats.
