HSR staff ratify agreement with City of Hamilton

Hamilton transit staff have ratified their four-year agreement with the City of Hamilton.

ATU Local 107, the union representing Hamilton transit workers, said in a release that the vote passed Thursday night with 81 per cent approval.

The City says a special council meeting will take place on Nov. 27 for council to vote to ratify the agreement.

Hamilton was ground to a halt when bus drivers took to the picket lines earlier this month.

There’s no word yet on what’s included in the deal, but the union was asking for a pay increase of about 23 per cent over four years, while the City was offering 12.75 per cent.
