Hit-and-run near Burlington GO station hospitalizes 35-year-old man
A 35-year-old man had to be rushed to a trauma centre after he was hit by a car while crossing a street near the Burlington GO station.
Authorities were first notified of the incident around 8:32 p.m. Sunday.
When they arrived at the collision they found a man who had been hit by a car and was suffering serious injuries.
The driver, however, failed to remain on scene.
“Initial investigation indicates that a 35-year-old male was crossing Fairview Street when he was struck by a motor vehicle,” police said in an update Monday morning. They describe the man’s injuries as serious and say he had to be rushed to a trauma centre.
Officers with Burlington’s collision reconstruction unit arrived soon after and were seen photographing the leftover debris.
The roadway was temporarily closed but has since re-opened.
“Anyone with information about this incident who have not yet spoken with police are asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-825-4747 ext: 5065. Police would also like to speak with anyone driving in the area at the time with dashcam footage.”
