Here’s what recreation centres are open Friday in Hamilton

The City of Hamilton are closing public libraries on Friday, but recreation centres will remain open during the winter storm.

The city says during a cold alert, recreation centres are available as community warming places for those who need to keep warm during regular business hours.

All Hamilton public libraries will be closed on Dec. 25, 26, and 27, and on Jan. 1 and 2.

Libraries will be open until 1 p.m. on Dec. 24, and Dec. 31, and until 6 p.m. between Dec. 28 and Dec. 30.

Here is a list of locations operating as warming centres during the inclement weather:

• Ancaster Rotary Centre, 385 Jerseyville Rd W, Ancaster
• Bernie Morelli Recreation Centre, 876 Cannon St E, Hamilton
• Central Memorial Rec Centre (effective December 12, 2022), 93 West Avenue S, Hamilton
• Dalewood Recreation Centre, 1150 Main St W, Hamilton
• Dominic Agostino Riverdale Community Centre, 150 Violet Dr, Hamilton
• Dundas Lions Memorial Community Centre, 10 Market St S, Dundas
• Huntington Park Recreation Centre, 87 Brentwood Dr, Hamilton
• Norman “Pinky” Lewis Recreation Centre, 192 Wentworth St. N., Hamilton
• Sackville Hill Senior Centre, 780 Upper Wentworth St, Hamilton
• Stoney Creek Recreation Centre, 45 King St W, Stoney Creek
• Valley Park Community Centre, 970 Paramount Dr., Stoney Creek
• Westmount Recreation Centre, 35 Lynbrook Dr, Hamilton

The Hub will be open as an additional overnight warming centre from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. on 78 Vine St., coffee and light snacks will be provided.
