Heddle Shipyards invests $107 million to expand projects in St. Catharines

Heddle Shipyards is investing $107 million to expand projects at the company’s Port Weller Dry Docks, with additional funding from the Ontario government at $3.4 million.

Ontario Economic Development Minister Vic Fedeli was in Hamilton Monday morning to make the announcement.

Fedeli said the investment will create thirty new good-paying jobs in the region.

The province’s funding is coming from the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness Stream of its Regional Development Program.

Heddle Shipyards is the largest ship repair and construction company operating on the Great Lakes.
