Hamilton City Council votes to ratify collective agreement with HSR staff

Hamilton City Council voted unanimously on Monday to ratify the four-year collective agreement with transit workers.
Council members were fully onboard for the collective agreement with ATU Local 107, the union representing HSR bus operators.
The contract sees a wage increase of 3.75 per cent in the first year, and then a three per cent increase in the second, third and fourth years.
City Council has ratified the four-year Collective Agreement for ATU Local 107, representing HSR bus operators, mechanics and other transit workers. The unanimous Council vote follows ratification by ATU members on Thursday, November 23.

Mayor Andrea Horwath says council is happy to have reached an agreement with the City’s transit workers.
“We know that life is getting more expensive for everyone, and I’m proud that we were able to reach an agreement that was fair to our employees and the people of Hamilton,” Horwath said.
The union had already voted to ratify the collective agreement on Friday, with 81 per cent of members approving.
