Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for most of Southern Ontario as a hot air mass passes through the region and is expected to last until Friday.

Maximum afternoon temperatures will reach near 30 degrees and humidex values in the high thirties are expected, with slightly cooler daytime temperatures near the shores of the Great Lakes.

Expect and even sweater Friday as the daytime maximum temperatures reach low thirties with humidex values near 40 in some areas.

A cold front early Saturday morning will bring cooler temperatures and lower humidity for the weekend.
