UFC president Dana White has announced that Georges St-Pierre and Mark Hominick will headline in the ring at the Rogers Centre. It will be Ontario’s first UFC event.
Quebec native St-Pierre will face Jake Shields. Hominick — who grew up in Ingersoll and trained in Toronto — will face Brazil’s Jose Aldo.
White says despite being in a bigger venue then they’re used to, the UFC is making sure every ticket-holder gets their money’s worth.
Tickets for the April 30th fight — Canada’s sixth UFC event — go on sale Saturday. It will coincide with a two-day UFC fan expo at the Direct Energy Centre.
