Harper weighs in on hockey violence

Prime Minister Stephen Harper weighed in on violence in hockey today. He’s working on a book about the early years of sport, and gave his opinion at a news conference this morning.

Harper says that hockey’s violent history isn’t a justification, and that he worries about headshots in the sport.

The prime minister also noted that authorities traditionally have not taken responsibility to keep the roughest parts of hockey within the rules.
