Hamilton’s John C. Munro International Airport yearly report is out. The 2025 edition celebrates a year of airport enhancements and expanded travel destinations, continuing on making it a crucial hub in the city.

Last year focused a lot on the customer experience, including modernizing the check-in process and baggage claim area.

The airport also launched its first passenger bridges to allow for weather protected access to the plane.

Overall, about $22 million was invested in infrastructure by management group TradePort.

Hamilton International Airport saw nearly 330,000 passengers travelling to and from the airport.

That’s over 5,000 more passengers compared to 2024.

Activity was boosted thanks to Porter Airlines becoming another airline option flying out of Hamilton.

Those flights took off in June to Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax and Vancouver and expanded to sunny destinations like Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Cancun.

Even more flights are being offered this summer to Montreal, Ottawa, St. John’s and Winnipeg.

Cargo shipments were also steady in 2025.

The airport also facilitated 750 million kilograms of landed cargo — slightly lower than 2024 which saw 754 million kilograms moved.

The airport is critical to Canada’s supply chain, operating as the country’s largest domestic overnight express cargo location.

The airport also celebrated the first anniversary of the Air Canada landline service, offering passengers the convenient option to travel between Hamilton International Airport and Toronto’s Pearson airport.
