Hamilton’s HMCS Haida marks 80th anniversary with special weekend celebration

It’s a special birthday for a special ship in Hamilton’s harbour: the World War II ship HMCS Haida is celebrating its 80th anniversary.
The ship is specially decorated and dressed to greet visitors on Saturday and Sunday.
World War II reenactors are also presenting fire demonstrations and showcasing artifacts from Canada’s military history.
The ship is also celebrating its 20th anniversary at the waterfront.
Saturday evening, guests are invited to dress up in their best 1940s attire for an evening of live music and swing dancing at the ship.
