Hamilton residents learned how to use Naloxone kits at Gage Park

Marchese health care, Hamilton Fringe Festival, and addiction organization “Over the Bridge” partnered up to teach the community how to use a naloxone kit in the event of an opioid overdose.
The event “learn to save a life” is designed to deliver life-saving training, education, and provide participants with two naloxone kits free of charge.
There have been over 400 opioid overdoses in Hamilton since January a number organizers say is part of an upward trend in the city.
Naloxone kits are provided by the Ontario government but organizers say it’s urgent to learn now, as they are worried funding for the service could be cut.
