Police are asking for the public’s help identifying suspects wanted in connection with two separate shootings in Hamilton over the weekend.

Officers say the first incident happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. Saturday when a large group of people were fighting outside 1123 Main St. East.

Investigators say a male suspect allegedly discharged one gunshot into the air and police later found the single shell casing.

The second incident happened around 10 p.m. Sunday in the area of Centre Road and Concession Road 6 East in Flamborough.

Police say it was initially reported that a firework had been set off and a car was seen leaving the scene, leaving people behind.

But when officers arrived, they discovered two men in their 20s who reported being there to sell marijuana pens.

Investigators say an unknown number of armed suspects then surrounded the vehicle of the two men, demanded they get out of it and then fled the scene in a white Honda Civic with Ontario license plate CMAT455.

Police say the two men allegedly heard a “loud bang” and ran before the vehicle drove away.

Investigators confirmed the shooting occurred after they found a shell casing.

The two shootings are not related, police say.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

Anyone with information or surveillance footage of the areas of the shootings is asked to contact the Hamilton Police Shooting Task Force at 905-546-4883 or via email at mdugdale@hamiltonpolice.ca.
