Hamilton Police search for man missing for nine months

Hamilton Police continue to search for a local man who has been missing since September.

Police say Brandon Pollock, 31, was seen leaving his home near Herkimer St. and Caroline St. around 4 p.m. on Sept. 10, 2019.

That same day, police say a group of boaters noticed a man swimming near the lift bridge in Lake Ontario.

It was about 1 km from the shoreline and in the middle of the boat channel.

They went to check on him but he waved them off, saying he was okay.

The boaters drove by a second time and recorded their conversation with him.

Again, the man told them he was okay.

Police issued a missing person release for Pollock later that day.

The boaters provided information and video to police.

Pollock’s family says they believe he is the man in the video.

They say this is out of character for him and there is concern for his well-being.
