Hamilton police investigate ‘potential threat’ at Westmount high school

Hamilton police say they found a pellet gun, following reports of a student with a firearm at Westmount Secondary school.

On Monday around 12:30 p.m.police received information about a student with a gun. Officers quickly responded and secured the area, the school also went into lockdown protocol.

During the investigation police detained 3 male students and recovered a pellet gun.

The lockdown was lifted just after 1 p.m. Police continue to investigate the incident.
