Hamilton police clock driver at 177 km/h on RHVP

A 29-year-old man is facing charges after a driver was caught going nearly twice the speed limit on the Red Hill Valley Parkway.

Shortly before 4 a.m. on Saturday, police were conducting speed enforcement near Greenhill Ave.

Officers saw a white 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck travelling northbound on the parkway at a high rate of speed.

Police say the vehicle was clocked going 177 kilometres per hour in a posted 90 kilometre zone.

A Hamilton man has been charged with stunt driving and speeding. The man’s license was seized for seven days and his vehicle was seized and impounded for the same amount of time.

He is scheduled to appear in court on April 25.
